Computer & Online Certification

Professional certifications increase your value in the workplace. The ability to prove any skill set in a tight job market where time spent training new employees is very expensive can make the difference between getting hired and getting passed over. Basic computer skills are desirable in all parts of the job market.

Technological & Computer Literacy

Computer literacy is the knowledge and ability to use computers and technology efficiently. The pervasiveness of computers is continuing to grow at an outstanding rate. As companies become ever more dependent on technology, the value a potential employee has may be measured in terms of his or her technological competency. The highest goal of a computer-literate person is to be able to learn and use new computer programs without large amounts of help. Computer literacy gives people of all ages an edge in both their careers and education.

TFI & Online Certification

TFI offers an online certification, available as a professionally printed certification that documents a participant's technical ability based on his or her performance. In addition to the CAT1 online certification, TFI offers the CAT2 knowledge-based online certification. This certification measures your technical knowledge to a degree much deeper than the basic computer literacy measured by CAT1.

Online Learning, Testing, & Certification

TFI's computer assessment and tutorial programs (CAT1 and CAT2) provide detailed online learning material that participants apply both in our performance-based CAT1 online testing environment and our knowledge-based CAT2 online test. CAT1 uses specific programs (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook Express, Windows XP, Mac OS-X, and Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint), enabling participants to learn and to apply their knowledge by actually performing tasks which are evaluated and graded through TFI's online testing products. The ability to use these programs which are commonly implemented in the workplace and in academic environments is documented with both an online certification and a hard copy professional certification from the Technological Fluency Institute to help both résumés and job applications.
