We are solution providers. Our first program was born from a relationship with Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, KS). The College of Education had an idea for a performance-based computer assessment, but it needed a partner to create the actual web-based solution. That's where we stepped in. TFI took that idea and added to it creating CAT1, our performance-based computer assessment and tutorial learning program.
After using CAT1, our clients expressed the need for an assessment that covered additional technological literacy skills and knowledge. In response to that need, we developed CAT2, our knowledge-based computer and technological assessment learning program.
TFI developed a career and technical education core curriculum assessment to be used statewide to assure that all career and technical students in that state are credentialed, that is all CTE program completers possess a common core of knowledge and skill.
Additionally, we conducted an ongoing study to determine how a state's career and technical education efforts fare in terms of objectives set out in that state's CTE strategic plan. The results of this study will shape future plans of that state's CTE department.
And we're still creating. The Technological Fluency Institute stands firm with its vision: To create and deploy solutions to challenges associated with the convergence of technology and education.
